About me

I started this blog in 2016 with a former colleague, back when I worked at a Microsoft partner. We wanted somewhere to put what we'd figured out about Azure, partly to help others and partly so we could find it again ourselves. I've run it on my own for years now.

The early posts here are mostly error messages: the exact string you'd paste into a search box at 23:00, and what actually fixed it. I've kept them, because those posts still get read. The recent ones are longer — research into questions where I kept hearing confident answers that contradicted each other, and wanted to work out which one held up.

How I handle being wrong

Every post carries a revision log. When I get something wrong, or when Azure changes under a post, I add an entry rather than silently editing the text. In one recent series I found mid-research that my whole premise was wrong, and I left the correction in the published piece. That's the standard I'm holding myself to here.
